MoPac Trail Connection update – Cass County Commission
The good news is that things are still progressing.
However, the agenda item originally scheduled for April 22nd, has been moved to the Commissions May 6th meeting.

With the change in meeting dates, it gives those in support of the trail connection more time to make your voice be heard.
IF YOU HAVE NOT SIGNED THE SUPPORT PETITION, PLEASE DO SO. HERE IS THE LINK https://www.nebraskatrailsfoundation.org/mopac-gap/
Please share this information with as many people as possible. The successful completion of this trial will have a huge impact on other trail projects.
One major area of impact is the economic impact, not just for Cass County but the entire eastern Nebraska area. The State of Iowa just published an economic impact report on the bicycle industry. The bicycle industry annually contributes $1.4 Billion to the Iowa economy. https://iowabicyclecoalition.org/economic-impact-study-of-cycling-and-trails/
The MOPAC GAP connector between Sarpy County and Cass County will be a boon to the communities along the trail, especially those in Cass County.
The sooner this gets done the better. I have no doubt it will get used. It’s time to keep Nebraska moving forward.
